David Pyke, PhD. is a professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management, at the University of San Diego School of Business. He was dean of the School of Business from 2008 until 2015, leading the school to a significant presence in national and international business school rankings. Formerly, he was professor of Operations Management, and associate dean at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He obtained his BA from Haverford College, MBA from Drexel University, and his M.A. and PhD. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has made major research contributions in inventory models, production planning and scheduling, and global operations and supply chain management. He has co-authored two books and has published numerous academic papers. He is a frequent faculty at executive programs, and has taught at the International University of Japan, the Helsinki School of Economics and the WHU – Otto-Beisheim-Hochschule, Vallendar, Germany. He has consulted for The Rand Corporation, Accenture, Corning, DHL, Eaton, Home Depot and Markem, among others. He serves on the Board of Directors of CONNECT, GW Plastics, Concepts NREC, and util recently the Lwala Community Alliance, a nonprofit focused on community development in Kenya. He is an advisor to GuardHat, Inc. and is an operating partner of Tuckerman Capital LLC. Professor Pyke’s consulting engagements range from operations and supply chain strategy formulation, to training global supply chain management and operations strategy, to tactical inventory and production control.
Ronald B. Garnett is President and CEO of the Council for Supplier Diversity. Over the past ten years, the Council has continued to grow in size, capability and reputation under his innovative leadership. Ron is the visionary and principle architect of the Council’s new Diverse Business Development Center. The Center provides valuable support and critical resources to help women-owned businesses optimize the opportunities to continue building and expandig their enterprises. Previously Ron was founder and CEO of PPI, a performance consulting firm, where he distinguished himself as an effective performance strategist. His broad background in executive manangement, sales, distribution, operations and human resources provides a unique combination of experience and competency when it comes to improving strategy. His clients include First Franklin Financial, Bose, Southeast Toyota, among others. Ron held executive positions as senior vice president and director of operations, vice presidnt training and devlopment, vice president human resources, and vice president corporate development for a large consumer products distribution company. He was a partner in a minority owned plastic manufacturing business, Gemini Plastics, that provided products to Hallmark Cards, United Airlines, Burger King and many other major companies. Ron also served in sales and management positions for Chesebrought-Ponds, Inc. and the American Can Company. His work has been recognized in ational trade magazines and his writings on performance improvement have been published in professional publications. Ron currently serves on the Board of the Asian Business Association, the Reshoring Institute at the University of San Diego and the California GO156 African American Business Advisory Committee.
